A Weaver’s Tale (or ‘What I Actually Do in Real Life’)

2009 September 24

When I’m not travelling, I actually do some serious stuff.:)

Here’s the trailer of “A Weaver’s Tale”, Sheron Dayoc’s documentary about the Yakan tribe weavers and the dangers they face amidst the war in Mindanao. Sheron was one of the filmmakers who won the ASIAN PITCH 2008 sponsored by MediaCorp Singapore and NHK Japan. I wrote the script and post-production was done in JesCom.

off travel: excuses, excuses

Oh wow! No post since, um, forever?! I’m not going to make any excuses. But yeah, I will.

It’s this darned graduate school! Yup, this old lady is trying to finish her masters in development communications. It’s taken up so much of my time and well, my life. And to think I’m only taking one subject this sem, haha! I didn’t realize that studying would be difficult for me at this age (I’m 39), what with all the stuff going on in my life and at work. Plus, I have the attention span of a 2-year old. My brain can think of 20,000 subjects per minute, if you let me…

(3 minutes later)

There, I’ve gone off to some faraway land. Again. Maybe I have a disorder.

In any case, I’m enjoying school believe it or not. I like writing reaction papers, and studying (even if I can only study 15 minutes at a time) and making comments on my classmates’ forum posts. Somewhere deep inside of me, Pauline the Geek, is lurking, waiting to be let out. It’s all a matter of–

time.
